Brooks and Brown Combine for No Hitter
The Liberal Bee Jays put it together on the mound on Sunday afternoon. J. Brooks Kappelmann and Stephen Brown, combined for a seven inning no hitter in a 13-0 B.J. win over the Colorado Lumberjax. Kappelmann went five no-hit innings with nine strikeouts and four walks. Brown went two innings with two strikeouts and one walk.
The Bee Jays did more than enough at the plate as well scoring 13 runs with 17 hits in six innings. The Bee Jays scored in every inning but one plating three in the first, one in the second, two in the third, four in the fifth, and three in the sixth.
Cole Manuel was 3-4 with four RBI's and a double. Cooper Kardokus was 2-4 with a triple, three RBI's, and three runs. Ben Finnegan was 2-4 with a double. William Bologna, Seth Green, Trenton Uyeda, and Adam Swanson had two hits a piece.
The Lumberjax are 3-12 overall and 0-9 in the Rocky Mountain. Liberal is 10-3 overall and 8-2 in the Rocky Mountain. The Bee Jays host Dodge City Tuesday night at 7pm for a non league game. Rapid Fit is the buyout sponsor.
