Bee Jays Ground Angels
The Liberal Bee Jays put up big number again. One night after scoring 22 runs, the Bee Jays blistered the Gameday Angels 21-7 in seven innings Wednesday night at Double Angel Park in Parker. The Bee Jays take three of four over the Angels this year.
The Bee Jays scored three in the first. Ben Finnegan was hit by a pitch and Trenton Uyeda singled before Cole Manuel hit an RBI double down the first base line. Cal Anthony lofted a sac fly to right. Drew Gartman grounded to short to drive home a run. Charlie Ziola drilled a solo home rBeeun to right in the second for the 4-0 lead. In the fourth, Drew Gartman and Cade Adams led off with line drive singles to left. Josiah Rojas blasted a three run home run to right. Charlie Ziola made it back to back home runs with his second homer of the game to make it 8-0. Seth Green scored on a wild pitch for the 9-0 lead and a five run fourth inning. Liberal scored four more in the sixth on three walks and a hit batter. Cole Manuel had the only hit of the inning as he rolled an RBI single to right. Drew Gartman was hit by a pitch to score a run. Cade Adams grounded out to score a run. The Angels scored four in the sixth. The Bee Jays answered with an eight run seventh. Seth Green tripled home a run and scored on a Ben Finnegan RBI. Drew Gartman was again hit by a pitch with the bases loaded and Cade Adams walked with the bases loaded. Charlie Ziola singled home a run and Ben Finnegan singled home two.
Andrew Banda pitched five shutout innings allowing two hits. He struck out six and did not issue a walk. Charlie Ziola was 4-5 with two HR's. Trenton Uyeda was 3-4. Seth Green was 2-4 with three runs and a triple. Cole Manuel was 2-4 with two RBI's and a double. Ben Finnegan was 2-4 with three RBI's and three runs.
The Angels are 6-9 overall and 5-9 in the Rocky Mountain. Liberal is 13-6 overall and 11-5 in the Rocky Mountain. The Bee Jays play at Dodge City Thursday night at 7pm with pre-game at 6:45 on 1270 and 92.3 FM.
